Leadership
Making a difference on campus & in the community
Society of Peer Mentors
Treasurer & Mentor
The Society of Peer Mentors (SPM) is a group of about 130 College of Engineering students dedicated to making their STEM more accessible to their peers and the wider community. Through SPM I have mentored incoming engineering freshmen, explained STEM based activities to middle school students, and developed my own skills as a leader through becoming an officer and planning leadership trainings.

Encounter Engineering
Team & Group Leader
Encounter Engineering aims to orient incoming college of engineering students to engineering and college life in general. In my role as a team leader, I mentored 5-6 students, guiding them through a design competition and educating them about campus resources. As a group leader, I managed 10Â teams of students and team leaders, ensuring teams were on time and in the right place while disseminating information. I even received the honor of being the camp "mom".

President Future Leaders in Research
Undergraduate Researcher
The President Future Leaders in Research (PFLR) program encourages undergraduate students to be involved in research with their professor. I have been doing research with Dr. Laura Ikuma for the past three years. Currently we are developing the experimental design to test the time and money saved in operating rooms when an alternate disinfectant process is used.
I also studied the effectiveness of a community paramedicine program at the Baton Rouge EMS department. I presented this research at LSU's Discover Day 2019 and the Astronaut Scholarship Innovators Conference 2019.
