My Projects
Let's talk specifics

Interplant Mile Reduction
Anheuser-Busch
When shipping our product, Anheuser-Busch will sometimes ship smaller loads to internally owned distribution centers (DC) before shipping the product to our customers. I analyzed historical shipments to determine ways to reduce these interplant miles. Using Microsoft SAS, I developed a program to find the optimal DC for each shipping lane. I also created a basic logic for increasing the complexity in our optimization software.
OSHA Silica Compliance
Tindall Corp.
OSHA created a new regulation reducing the amount of aerosolized silica dust, a natural byproduct of cutting concrete, in manufacturing facilities by 80%. I developed new procedures to incorporate the necessary technology to facilitate this change. I also coordinated with the safety manager to train all production workers about the new processes and technologies. Two weeks after I finished my project, our facility was tested and targeted locations returned readings far below the OSHA standard, if any silica was detectable at all.

Effect of Community Paramedic Demographic on Patient Perception
LSU President's Future Leaders in Research
I worked with Oluwakemi Adio, and IE grad student under professor Dr. Laura Ikuma to study the fiscal feasibility and effectiveness of a local community paramedicine program. In this program paramaedics aimed to reduce non-emergent 911 calls by educate frequent 911 callers about their chronic conditions. One of the metrics we used to study this program was a thematic analysis of paramedic interviews. My presentation focused on how the demographics of the paramedics we interviewed affected their responses to questions about the program and their patients.
